#GORILLAZ DEMON DAYS LIVE 2017 HOW TO#
Gorillaz barely has any instrumentals, which I usually despise, but, these guys know how to use their technology and voice to make some of the most unique and atmospheric music on the industry currently, and I admire them so much. Two geniuses who decide to show MTV how to manufacture a band and do it well. Honestly, the inception of Gorillaz is what gets me. The album plastic beach for sure started to stray from all rap oriented into more melodies, so, I pray that Humanz gets us more melodies as well. We still get the amazing distinctive voice from 2D and it's almost like this character is teaching us a bit more about the human condition, and I just hope the new album has at least one song like that. It gives off this simple, sweet and pure tune, which is unexpected from this group. Mealoncaully Hill isn't just my favorite Gorillaz song, but, just songs period. Since I've always been a fan of music that revolved more around lyrics, meaning and melodies, my two favorite Gorillaz songs are easily Broken and From Mealoncaully Hill. You see, I despise rap, so, their rap heavy songs I usually skip through, or just get to the chorus (Feel Good Inc is too awesome just to skip all together) Both visual and sound are coming together to make me feel something entirely different every time I see a Gorillaz video.Īgain, I don't always like their songs either. What's crazy is that some Gorillaz songs, if you just casually listened to them, would just be okay but then are elevated to genius when you realize the atmosphere they create for the video. He gave these videos certain simple plots, got us to know really good characters and amazing environments. You see, since they are a fictional band, the artists of these videos is one of the main creators of the group and got to design them all and give these music videos lives of their own. Let's just say, the cult following of The Gorillaz has exploded, especially when people discovered their music videos. No, sometimes this album would have a rap song hit, follow by pop, followed by a techno hit and then followed by a soothing tune. They released a few singles from it like 'Clint Eastwood' (which I love btw) and people anticipated it to be a more pop rock tone. The first Gorillaz album was actually known as a flop because of how different it was then people anticipated it being. What if they created a band that was entirely manufactured, then they could do anything with them, right? Boom. This was in response of the current state of MTV, and how manufactured they felt like bands were becoming. The Gorillaz made their way in the music world in 2001 when two guys got together to create their own band. There are quite a few I genuinely enjoy though, and it's hard to say that for many other bands working today. It feels weird to say they are a favorite, because quite frankly, there's a good handful of their songs I really don't care for, and some that are even guilty pleasures. Whelp, since the anticipated album Humanz is coming out tomorrow, I've decided to discuss what is becoming a favorite band of mine, The Gorillaz. Why the Gorillaz is the most interesting band currently in the industry.
